Brad Archuleta

I started in the trade right out of high school and organized into the union in 1994. Since then, I’ve worked throughout the industry, from refineries, paper mills and high-tech facilities to hospitals, industrial refrigeration, chemical plants and power generation. I’ve also had the opportunity to work and run jobs in multiple states under several collective bargaining agreements.

I’m proud to be a second-generation fitter and welder. My dad taught me early in my career to always keep learning and make myself valuable, advice that has stayed with me throughout my life.

My union experience has been just as important as my time in the field. I’ve served more than 10 years on the UA Local 290 Executive Board, am currently serving my second term as Vice President, and have spent the past several years as a Business Agent. I’ve also served on numerous energy-related boards, representing our members and advocating for our trade.

After decades in the trade, I’m proud of where I started and the people I’ve worked alongside. My goal is to continue standing up for our members, sharing what I’ve learned and helping the next generation succeed.

Outside of work, my greatest accomplishment is my family. My wife and I have been together for 35 years and married for 31. We have three children, two grandchildren and another on the way.

I have spent the past 30 years working in the HVAC industry, building my career from the ground up and gaining firsthand experience in both the non-union and union sides of the trade. I started working non-union more than 20 years ago, and after seeing the value that union membership brought to workers, I joined the union as soon as I had the opportunity.

Since becoming a member, I have been actively involved in the work of the union and have made it a priority to contribute to and support the membership. I have served on five negotiating committees, been through the Barnes Group twice, served as Recording Secretary of the NSMA for more than a decade, and have continued to take on greater responsibility within the organization. Since February 2024, I have had the privilege of serving as Assistant Business Manager.

Throughout my career, my goal has been to represent the interests of the members, strengthen our union, and help ensure that the next generation has the opportunities, protections, and benefits that come with a strong union.

Outside of work, family is incredibly important to me. I’m a proud dad to two wonderful daughters and love watching them build careers of their own- one is currently in school to become a nurse, and the other is pursuing a career as an esthetician. Supporting them and seeing them work toward their goals is one of the things I’m most proud of.
